TCA are architects specialising in commercial & residential projects, often involving contemporary interventions in historic buildings or new buildings that relate strongly to historic settings.  Many jobs are located close to home in Central & West London, but TCA currently have UK projects as far north as the Scottish Highlands & as far south as the Isle of Wight.

Commercial clients include London landlords Howard de Walden Estate & South Kensington Estates, auctioneers Sotheby’s (for whom TCA are also Masterplanners), & many West End art dealers.  In addition to private families TCA's residential clients include many contemporary art collectors & well-known individuals such as Sir Paul McCartney.

TCA’s current work includes the design of a major new-build project in Cowes for the Royal Yacht Squadron, the UK’s senior yacht club, & the construction of a row of new build houses in London W1 for the Howard de Walden Estate, their first such project in decades.

Tom Croft (b.1959) studied architecture at the Bartlett where he won the Sir Henry Herbert Bartlett Travel Scholarship, & then at the Royal College of Art where he won the British Institution Student Architecture Prize. Before establishing TCA in 1995 he worked for Richard Meier in New York & then Rick Mather, John Stefanidis & John Pawson in London.  TCA’s brand of critical regionalism has been informed by all these designers.

Tom was a member of the South East Regional Design Panel 2007-13.  He was also a member of The Georgian Group's Planning Casework Panel 2005-ongoing.

Fabio Calzada (b.1967) started working with Tom in 2000 & became a Director of TCA in 2010. Fabio takes a leading role in many of TCA's projects.
